Butler, Rose carry Bulls past Celtics 109-102

Derrick Rose scored 14 of his 21 points in the second half -- 12 coming early in the third quarter -- to help the Bulls pull away for a 109-102 win over the Boston Celtics.

Jimmy Butler hit four free throws late in the game and finished with 22 points for Chicago, which had lost four of its previous six games. Pau Gasol had 15 points and 15 rebounds, and Joakim Noah added 15 points and 14 boards for the Bulls.

Jared Sullinger led Boston with 23 points and 10 rebounds.

Warriors 106 Hornets 101

Marreese Speights scored 16 of his 27 points to start the fourth quarter, helping the Warriors beat the Charlotte Hornets 106-101 for their eighth straight win.

Stephen Curry finished with 26 points despite a poor shooting night from 3-point range, and Klay Thompson added 17 points for the Warriors (13-2).

Brian Roberts scored 20 points and Al Jefferson had 18 points for the struggling Hornets (4-13), who have lost eight straight games and 10 of their last 11.

Pelicans 91 Hawks 100

Led by Jeff Teague's 26 points and the strong defense in the first half, the Hawks answered every second-half challenge from New Orleans and beat the Pelicans.

DeMarre Carroll added 19 points for Atlanta, which didn't trail after the opening period.

Ryan Anderson and Jrue Holiday each had 20 points for New Orleans.
