Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said defense remains a concern despite the impressive start.
"We have a long way to go, particularly on the defensive end," Spoelstra said. "You just have to put in the time. You have to put in the sweat equity."
The Heat ranked 20th in the league in opponent field goal percentage (45 percent) and were 12th in scoring (97.9) through seven games. They also are last in blocked shots.
