Veteran NBA forward Josh Powell, waived by the Rockets last week, has remained with the team to try his hand at coaching while he considers his next move.
If he chooses to retire as a player, he could then officially join the Rockets’ staff as a player development coach working with Rockets big men.
“He’s evaluating the next steps of his career,” Rockets general manager Daryl Morey said. “We think he would be a fantastic coach if he chooses to go that route.”
