It should come as no surprise that Villanova has been named as the favorite to win the Big East title in 2014-2015.
They received nine of the ten first place votes from the coaches, which is telling considering that Jay Wright is not allowed to vote for his own team.
Georgetown was picked second, the Big East announced Wednesday, with preseason player of the year D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera leading the way. The Hoyas received the other first-place vote since coaches can't pick their own team and edged St. John's by two points in the poll.
Xavier, Providence, Seton Hall, Butler, Marquette, Creighton and DePaul round out the poll.
