Amar’e Stoudemire and Andrea Bargnani will combine for $35.4 million in expiring contracts after the upcoming season for Phil Jackson and the Knicks to have some workable cap space next summer.
But both veteran big men claimed to be in good health on Monday, and expressed optimism of making contributions within the Triangle offense.
“It’s great to finally go through a summer where I could just work on basketball and maintain my strength,” Stoudemire said.
Bargnani added that he is “100% fine” after missing the final 40 games with a torn ligament in his left elbow.
