Former St. John’s star JaKarr Sampson has signed a partially-guaranteed three-year deal with the Philadelphia 76ers, Red Storm coach Steve Lavin confirmed in a dispatch on Twitter late Sunday night.
Sampson, a 6-8 forward who was the 2013 Big East Rookie of the Year and averaged 12.8 points and 6.1 rebounds this past season, opted to leave school and make himself eligible for the NBA Draft in March. He went undrafted but played for the Sixers’ summer league team in Orlando.
