Desiring a new start with another team, the New Orleans Pelicans waived small forward Omri Casspi on Wednesday after acquiring him from the Houston Rockets in a three-team trade earlier this month.
Casspi was included in the deal in which the Pelicans acquired starting center Omer Asik from the Rockets. Casspi had a year remaining on his non-guaranteed contract valued at just more than $1 million.
