The highest-rated of the four incoming freshmen on the Ohio State men’s basketball team did not begin the summer semester with his teammates yesterday.
Guard D’Angelo Russell, a McDonald’s All-American from Louisville, Ky., who is expected to challenge for a starting position next season, has not had his high-school academic transcript cleared by the NCAA Eligibility Center.
The eligibility center is awaiting Russell’s score from a standardized test he took earlier this month.
