Monday night, Rudy Gobert was examined at a local hospital in Santa Barbara, Calif., and was determined to have appendicitis. An appendectomy was then performed. He returned to Salt Lake City on Tuesday evening.
A return-to-activity timeline will be determined at a later date.
Gobert (7-1, 245, France) just completed his rookie season with the Jazz, appearing in 45 games and averaged 2.3 points and 3.4 rebounds. The 21-year-old Jazzman was selected in the first round (27th overall pick) in the 2013 NBA Draft.
