The Spurs exploded for a record-breaking first half on offense during a 111-92 victory over the Heat in Game 3 of the NBA Finals on Tuesday.
The Spurs came out hot and never stopped in the first half, shooting 25-for-33 (75.8 percent) overall and 7-for-10 (70 percent) from three-point range. San Antonio set a Finals record for shooting percentage in a half, beating the Magic’s 75 percent during Game 3 of the 2009 Finals against the Lakers.
In addition, the Spurs set a Finals record for shooting in a quarter by sinking 13-for-15 (86.7 percent) in the first period, when they scored one more point than they did in the entire second half (40).
