Byron Scott reportedly interviewed with Lakers front office executives on Tuesday for the coaching position left open by the departure of Mike D’Antoni.
The 53-year-old won three championships with the Lakers in the 1980s and was named coach of the year in 2008 when he was with New Orleans, then known as the Hornets.
He spent four years with the Nets, from 2000-2004, twice leading the organization to the NBA Finals. He was a two-time coach of the All-Star team, once in 2002 with the East and again in 2008 with the West.
Most recently, he coached the Cleveland Cavaliers from 2010-2013.
