ACC to use 30-second shot clock for exhibitions

ACC Commissioner John Swofford announced on Thursday that the league will experiment with a 30-second shot clock for men’s exhibition basketball games for the 2014-15 season.

Men’s teams currently use a 35-second shot clock, which has been in place since the 1993-94 season. That will remain in place this season.

A 30-second shot clock could be a precursor for a future rules change.
