The Philadelphia 76ers' Michael Carter-Williams and the Utah Jazz's Trey Burke were on Friday named the Kia NBA Eastern and Western Conference Rookies of the Month, respectively, for games played in April.
Carter-Williams led all rookies in scoring (17.6 ppg), ranked third in rebounding (7.5 rpg), fourth in both assists (6.4 apg) and minutes (32.5 mpg), and fifth in field goal percentage (.525).
Burke ranked third among rookies in scoring (15.6 ppg) and led rookies in assists (9.0 apg) during April. He placed second among first-year players in minutes, having logged 38.3 mpg on the month.
Other nominees for the Eastern and Western Conference Rookies of the Month were Boston's Kelly Olynyk, Brooklyn's Mason Plumlee, Minnesota's Gorgui Dieng, New York's Tim Hardaway Jr., Orlando's Victor Oladipo, and Sacramento's Ben McLemore and Ray McCallum.
