The New Orleans Pelicans announced today that the team has signed forward James Southerland for the remainder of the season.
Southerland (6-8, 221) joins the Pelicans after playing for the NBA D-League’s Los Angeles D-Fenders in 2013-14. The Syracuse product appeared in 42 games (14 starts) with the D-Fenders this season and averaged 14.7 points and 6.5 rebounds in 28.6 minutes per game.
Southerland will wear No. 31 and will be available for tonight’s contest against Oklahoma City.
