The Spurs made history on Saturday, crushing New Orleans 96-80 at the AT&T Center to tie the franchise record with their 17th straight regular-season victory.
The record was originally set from Feb. to March of 1996. (Coincidentally, Hornets coach Monty Williams was a fringe player on that team.) The overall record, including playoffs, is 20, set in 2012.
Even if the Spurs lose, their 17-game streak still stands among the best not only in franchise history, but NBA annals as well:
