Tennessee-Martin fired coach Jason James on Monday after five seasons.
James took over as the Skyhawks' coach in June 2009 after spending seven seasons as an assistant to former coach Bret Campbell.
UT-Martin was 8-23 this season, 3-13 in the Ohio Valley Conference. The Skyhawks did not qualify for the league tournament.
