Memphis nearly pulled off an improbable upset Tuesday night when it stunned the San Antonio Spurs by wiping out a 12-point deficit in the final two minutes of regulation before losing 110-108 in overtime at FedExForum.
Point guard Mike Conley scored a season-high 30 points — one shy of his career best — and spearheaded the Grizzlies’ comeback. But the Spurs prevailed when Manu Ginobili scored a layup with 1.8 seconds left in the extra period.
Conley’s 28-foot, three-point attempt fell short as the final buzzer sounded on the Grizzlies’ third loss to the Spurs this season.
