Iowa head coach Fran McCaffery was suspended one game and fined $10,000 by the Big Ten Conference on Tuesday as a result of bumping an official and being ejected Sunday, the conference announced.
McCaffery will serve the suspension against Northwestern on Thursday.
The coach apologized for the incident on Monday and Iowa’s athletic director issued a statement supporting him while acknowledging McCaffery “crossed a line.”
