With little playing time available for him in Minnesota, the Timberwolves decided Friday to send first-round draft pick Shabazz Muhammad to their Iowa affiliate in the NBA Development League.
Flip Saunders, the Wolves' president of basketball operations, said on his weekly appearance on KFXN-FM that Muhammad could join the Des Moines-based team as soon as Sunday.
Through 32 games entering Saturday's home game against Oklahoma City, Muhammad has averaged about four minutes of playing time over 11 games.
