Luis Scola said from the moment he joined the Indiana Pacers last summer following a trade with Phoenix that he had no problem coming off the bench.
But that doesn’t mean it was easy.
But like everything else these days with the Pacers it’s working out better than anyone close to the team could have hoped.
Scola is shooting 53.2 percent from the field, a career-high, and averaging 8.2 points and 4.1 rebounds while backing up David West at the power forward spot. Pacers coach Frank Vogel said his high expectations have been exceeded.
“I love Luis Scola,” Vogel said after practice Tuesday. “He just really knows how to play the game. His defense has been better than I thought it would be just from the standpoint of his savvy and his tricks."
