The NBA D-League season has yet to begin, but Santa Cruz Warriors center Dewayne Dedmon has nevertheless earned the team's first call-up of the year.
Dedmon, a 7-foot, 239-pound post out of USC, was promoted by the Golden State Warriors on Monday and played 2 minutes, 11 seconds in a 98-87 win over the host Utah Jazz. He took one shot and didn't record a rebound.
The call-up comes after Golden State backup center Jermaine O'Neal suffered a bruised right knee and a strained right groin during Saturday night's game against Utah. O'Neal is day-to-day and did not travel with the team to Utah.
