Though Middlesex County prosecutors have decided not to pursue domestic assault charges against Jared Sullinger, the Celtics announced this afternoon that they have suspended the second-year forward for tomorrow night's season-opener.
A one-game suspension, against that backdrop, is a relatively light penalty.
"Jared's case was dismissed yesterday in Waltham District Court," Celtics president Danny Ainge said in a statement today. "While we are satisfied that this was the correct ruling, we are suspending Jared for one game because he failed to meet the high expectations we have for all Celtics employees."
