NBA fines Grizzlies' Randolph $25K for comments about officials
Memphis Grizzlies forward Zach Randolph has been fined $25,000 for public criticism of officiating, it was announced today by Rod Thorn, President, Basketball Operations.
Randolph made his comments following the Grizzlies' 100-92 loss to the Houston Rockets on Thursday, Dec. 26, at Toyota Center.
Randolph was unhappy that James Harden, who was 2 for 9 from the floor, went to the free throw line 25 times.
“It’s obvious. It was the refs tonight,” Randolph said. “It was 8 on 5. In the second half, (Harden) was getting to the free throw line every time. We’re playing hard and they (the officials) were dictating the game. It can’t be like that. We’re out here playing too. It was a horrible game by the refs tonight. Awful.”
