Harrison Barnes, Warriors table contract extension talks
Harrison Barnes and the Warriors have tabled negotiations on a contract extension until after the season, general manager Bob Myers said Tuesday.
The two sides officially faced a Monday deadline to reach an agreement, but Barnes didn’t want talks to stretch into the regular season. The Warriors play their opener Tuesday night against New Orleans.
“It doesn’t change our position with Harrison,” Myers said after the team’s morning shootaround in Oakland. “We’re still very intent on revisiting it in July, when we have an opportunity. We still view him as a core member of the team long-term. He just wants to focus on the games.”
