Nuggets agree to trade Ty Lawson to Rockets
The Rockets reached agreement on a deal for Denver point guard Ty Lawson, acquiring the six-year veteran without giving up anyone from their playing rotation.
The move, however, is not without risk. Lawson entered a 30-day private alcohol treatment program last week after his second DUI arrest in the past six months.
The Rockets will send guard Nick Johnson, forward Kostas Papanikolaou, guard Pablo Prigioni and center Joey Dorsey, along with a protected first-round pick to get Lawson.
The pick that will go to Denver is protected through the lottery. The Rockets will receive Denver’s 2017 second-round pick.
