Warriors clinch first Pacific Division title in 39 years
The Warriors overcame a sluggish start and a 12-point, second-quarter deficit to clinch the franchise’s first division title since 1976 with a 122-108 victory over Portland in a nationally televised game Tuesday night at the Moda Center.
“It’s a big deal for us,” Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said. “If you haven’t done something for that long, it should be a big deal.”
At 58-13, the Warriors are one win away from the franchise’s winningest season. At 24-11 on the road, they tied the franchise season mark for victories as visitors.
