Penn hires former Cornell coach Steve Donahue as head coach
The University of Pennsylvania announced on Monday its new hire of Steve Donahue, former Boston College and Cornell coach.
He becomes the 20th coach in the 115-year history of the Penn men's basketball program. Donahue has Penn ties; throughout the 1990s he was an assistant under longtime Quakers coach/current Temple coach Frank Dunphy.
Donahue, 52, coached at Boston College from 2010-2014 with a 54-76 record, failing to reach an NCAA Tournament during his time there. Before that, he was the longtime coach at Cornell, a tenure that culminated with three consecutive trips to the NCAAs.
