Samford signs coach Scott Padgett to 4-year extension

Samford has given first-year basketball coach Scott Padgett a four-year contract extension through the 2018-19 season.

Athletic director Martin Newton announced the deal on Friday, saying that Padgett "possesses all of the traits to be a huge success."

The Bulldogs entered the Southern Conference tournament starting Friday with a 13-18 record and 6-12 league mark.
