Pelicans acquire Ish Smith from Thunder, then waive him
The New Orleans Pelicans announced Thursday that the team has completed a trade with the Oklahoma City Thunder, acquiring guard Ish Smith, the rights to Latavious Williams, cash considerations and draft considerations. In exchange, Oklahoma City has acquired draft considerations from New Orleans.
Smith, 6-0, 175, appeared in 30 games this season with Oklahoma City, averaging 1.2 points, 0.9 rebounds and 0.9 assists.
Williams currently plays for Bilbao Basket of Liga ACB (Spain), where he has appeared in 21 games in 2014-15, averaging 7.5 points and 5.9 rebounds per game.
The New Orleans Pelicans announced later in the day that the team has waived Smith.
