76ers claim 3rd win of season, 96-88 over Magic
Michael Carter-Williams scored 21 points as the Sixers opened a seven-game road trip with a 96-88 victory over the Orlando Magic on Sunday night.
The win ended a five-game losing streak. All three of their victories this season have come away from home. Philadelphia trailed by 11 in the third quarter, but led by as many as 14 points in the fourth.
Victor Oladipo had 23 points for the Magic. Nik Vucevic finished with 19 points and 17 rebounds, and Tobias Harris added 17 points.
Pelicans 101 Thunder 99
Anthony Davis put in a Durant-like effort, scoring 38 efficient points to lead the New Orleans Pelicans to a 101-99 victory over Oklahoma City.
Davis made 16 of 22 shots and had 12 rebounds while doing a little bit of everything.
Kevin Durant missed his second straight game with a sprained right ankle. Thunder coach Scott Brooks said Durant is day-to-day.
Russell Westbrook scored 29 points for the Thunder, but he missed a 3-pointer that could have given Oklahoma City the lead in the closing seconds.
Pacers 100 Timberwolves 96
C.J. Miles scored 28 points and David West bulled his way to the basket for two big points with 34 seconds to play to help the Pacers to a 100-96 victory over the Timberwolves.
Miles hit 10 of 18 shots and Roy Hibbert had 15 points, eight rebounds and four blocks for the Pacers, who got 48 points from their bench.
Mo Williams had 24 points and 10 assists and Shabazz Muhammad added 21 points and six rebounds for the Timberwolves (5-21). They have lost 11 of their last 12 games.
