Wall, Wizards deal Cavs 3rd straight loss
The Cavaliers went the final 9 minutes without scoring a field goal in Friday night's 91-78 loss to the Washington Wizards, a third consecutive loss and one that puts LeBron James under .500 more than 10 games into a season for the first time in six years.
John Wall took over in the third quarter and finished with 28 points, 7 assists and 6 rebounds for the hustling Wizards, who have won four of five.
James scored 22 points on 8-for-21 shooting, but the Cavaliers shot 36 percent, scored a season low in points and looked flat-footed as they fell to 5-6.
Pelicans 97 Nuggets 117
Kenneth Faried and Arron Afflalo scored 19 points each, Wilson Chandler had 18 and Denver beat the New Orleans Pelicans.
Danilo Gallinari had 17 points and JaVale McGee 14 for the Nuggets, who have won four of their last five after starting the season 1-6.
Anthony Davis led the Pelicans with 18 points and nine rebounds.
Bulls 87 Trail Blazers 105
Damian Lillard had 21 points and nine assists to help the Trail Blazers beat the short-handed Chicago Bulls.
Chicago lost Taj Gibson in the third quarter when he sprained his left ankle. The Bulls were already limited without Derrick Rose, Pau Gasol and Kirk Hinrich.
Rookie Nikola Mirotic came off the bench and had season highs with 24 points and 11 rebounds for the Bulls.
Jazz 88 Warriors 101
Andre Iguodala scored 17 points, Harrison Barnes had 14 points and 11 rebounds and the Golden State Warriors used a blistering start to beat the Utah Jazz for their fourth straight win.
The well-rested Warriors shook off any rust with a smothering defensive effort. They led 28-13 at the end of the first quarter, 54-32 at the half and 85-57 entering the fourth.
Enes Kanter scored 18 points, and Gordon Hayward had 12 points and five rebounds for a young Jazz team that's struggling against top competition.
