Evan Turner officially signs as Celtics finalize training camp roster
The Boston Celtics announced today that they have signed guard/forward Evan Turner.
The terms of the contract were not disclosed, but Jeff Zillgitt of USA Today reports that it is a two-year deal worth $3.278 million per season.
Turner, a 6’7” guard/forward, was previously acquired by the Indiana Pacers on February 20, 2014 after being selected by the Philadelphia 76ers with the second overall pick in the 2010 NBA Draft.
He appeared in 81 games during the 2013-14 regular season and averaged 13.9 points, 5.1 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game in that span.
In a related move, the Celtics also announced today that they have waived guard John Lucas III and forward Malcolm Thomas.
The Celtics also announced officially that they have added guards Tim Frazier and Rodney McGruder, and forward Christian Watford to training camp.
