Former Laker Mike Penberthy named Timberwolves' shooting coach
Mike Penberthy, a member of the Lakers' 2000-01 NBA championship team, has joined the Minnesota Timberwolves as the team's shooting coach.
Penberthy appeared in 53 games for the Lakers during the 2000-01 season. The 6-foot-3 guard from Master's College averaged 16.1 minutes and 5.0 points a game while shooting 39.6% from three-point range and 90.3% from the free-throw line.
Penberthy will be charged with helping players like Ricky Rubio, Andrew Wiggins and Zach LaVine with their shooting.
