Cavaliers fire GM Chris Grant in midst of another disappointing season
Saying the Cavaliers have ''severely underperformed against expectations,'' owner Dan Gilbert fired general manager Chris Grant on Thursday morning and appointed vice president of basketball operations David Griffin as acting GM.
Gilbert has remained mostly silent as the team, whose stated goal this season was to make the playoffs, stumbled to a 16-33 record, including an abysmal 119-108 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday night at The Q. The Lakers, who came in with a seven-game losing streak, started the game with eight healthy players and finished with five.
