Spurs waive Thomas as Leonard lost for 3-4 weeks
The San Antonio Spurs today announced that they have waived forward Malcolm Thomas.
Thomas was originally signed by San Antonio on Dec. 3. He appeared in one game with the Silver and Black posting 2 points, 9 rebounds and 2 blocks in 14 minutes vs. Milwaukee on Jan. 19.
The movement paves the way for a more suitable replacement for injured perimeter players Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green. Leonard is expected to miss 3 to 4 weeks after breaking his right hand in the first half of Wednesday’s home loss to Oklahoma City.
