NBA fines Mark Cuban $100,000 for yelling at referees
The NBA announced Saturday evening that Mark Cuban has been fined $100,000 "for confronting the game officials on the court after the conclusion" of last Wednesday's game at the Los Angeles Clippers, "and directing inappropriate language to them."
The fine was announced by NBA Commissioner David Stern, which was unusual, but perhaps fitting. Cuban had said for several weeks, seemingly tongue-in-cheek, that he hoped to get fined before Stern retires as commissioner on Feb. 1.
