NBA fines Magic's Jameer Nelson $15,000 for an obscene gesture
Orlando Magic guard Jameer Nelson has been fined $15,000 for making an obscene gesture during the Magic's 128-125 loss in triple overtime to the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday, Jan. 15, it was announced today by Rod Thorn, President, Basketball Operations.
Nelson's actions occurred with 0:11 remaining in the 4th quarter of the game. After he made a game-tying shot, Nelson made a gesture made popular by Sam Cassell during Cassell’s playing days. The gesture is meant to indicate he had, say, a lot of guts for taking and making such a high-pressure shot.
