Pelicans outlast Bulls in triple overtime
A crafty inbounds play and a defensive breakdown combined to cap the Bulls' 131-128 triple-overtime loss to the New Orleans Pelicans. It marked their sixth loss in seven games and prevented the Bulls from starting 6-0 at the United Center for just the fourth time in franchise history.
Mike Dunleavy, who scored a season-high 23 points and hit a career-high-tying six 3-pointers, missed a game-tying 3 at the buzzer.
Luol Deng played a career-high 55 minutes, 38 seconds and all but 7.7 seconds of the 39 minutes after halftime, finishing with a season-high 37 points.
Ryan Anderson's career-high 36 points featured seven 3-pointers for the Pelicans.
