Washington's Simmons out 6-8 weeks with knee injury
Washington forward Desmond Simmons will have arthroscopic knee surgery on Thursday and miss the next six to eight weeks, the school confirmed to CBSSports.com.
The 6-foot-7 junior averaged 4.9 points and 6.5 rebounds last season for the Huskies.
Without Simmons in the lineup, look for Washington to start either Jernard Jarreau or Shawn Kemp Jr. at power forward.
