Transfer guard Young cleared to play for Oregon
Houston transfer Joseph Young has been cleared by the NCAA to play for Oregon this season, according to Andy Katz of ESPN.
Young, a 6-foot-2 guard who was Conference USA’s second-highest scorer at 18 points per game last season, will give the top-20-ranked Ducks another perimeter scoring option.
The NCAA approved Young’s request for an immediate waiver after his father, former Houston star and director of basketball operations Michael Young, was reassigned on the Cougars’ staff.
