LSU gives coach Jones 2-year deal

LSU announced on Friday that their Board of Supervisors approved a two-year contract extension for coach Johnny Jones.

Jones, who is entering his third season at LSU as head coach, has won 39 games in his first two years, the most by any Tiger head coach in their first two years in the 100-plus years of the program.

The two-year extension means that Jones' contract now extends through the 2019 season and his salary will go up $400,000 in the TV/Multimedia/Radio portion of his contact to bring his total compensation to $1.5 million.
