Rose scores 30, but Irving, Cavs best Bulls

LeBron James received a thunderous ovation during the pregame introductions from the sellout crowd in Value City Arena on the OSU campus and the Cavaliers went on to defeat the Chicago Bulls 107-98.

Kyrie Irving led the Cavaliers with 20 of his 28 points coming in the second half while Derrick Rose continues to show he's well on his way back from a torn medial meniscus in his right knee that caused him to miss last season's playoffs. He had 30 points in 24 minutes of play and said he liked the challenge of playing the Cavaliers.

James had 18 points in 31 minutes before exiting to a standing ovation with 6:29 to play and the Cavaliers ahead 92-81.

Wizards 84 Pelicans 88

Anthony Davis scored 14 points and Ryan Anderson had 11 as the New Orleans Pelicans beat the Washington Wizards 88-84 in the next-to-last preseason game for both teams.

Led by 10 points from Davis, who went 5 for 5 from the field, the Pelicans went on a 24-4 run to take a 28-12 lead with 47.4 seconds left in the first quarter.

The Wizards, led by Kevin Seraphin's 14 points, rebounded from a 29-point deficit to get within 87-84 with 18 seconds to play.

Spurs 106 Kings 99

Jeff Ayres had 15 points and rookie Kyle Anderson added 14 points as the San Antonio Spurs overcame DeMarcus Cousin's 32 points and 11 rebounds to rally for a 106-99 victory over the Sacramento Kings.

Marco Belinelli scored 14 points and Tony Parker had 13 points and five assists for San Antonio (2-3).

Rudy Gay scored 18 points for Sacramento (2-4). Carl Landry added 15 points and Darren Collison had 14.

Nets 99 Sixers 88

Mason Plumlee had 20 points and 17 rebounds to help the Brooklyn Nets beat thePhiladelphia 76ers 99-88. Deron Williams added 13 points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals.

Henry Sims and Tony Wroten scored 13 points apiece to lead the 76ers.
