The New Orleans Pelicans have reached an agreement to sign free agent forward Vernon Macklin to a non-guaranteed deal for training camp.
Macklin rejected several overseas deals to attend the Pelicans’ camp. He averaged two points and almost two rebounds in 23 games with the Detroit Pistons in 2011-12. Macklin was a second round pick of the Pistons in 2011.
