Gordon Hayward makes jumper at the buzzer, Jazz beat Cavs

Gordon Hayward one-upped LeBron James and gave the Utah Jazz a 102-100 victory over the struggling Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday night with a dramatic shot.

Hayward, who had 21 points, broke free of James to catch an inbounds pass, faked a move to the basket and then stepped back on the right wing and swished a 21-foot jump shot as the horn sounded.

Derrick Favors had 21 points and 10 rebounds but the Jazz had to overcome a last-minute effort by James, who scored 31 points as Cleveland fell to 1-3. Kyrie Irving had 34 points and Kevin Love added 14 for the Cavaliers, who lost for the second time in two nights.

Hawks 92 Spurs 94

Tim Duncan had 17 points and 13 rebounds and San Antonio held off a frenetic effort by Atlanta to capture its 17th straight win at home over the Hawks, 94-92 on Wednesday night.

Seven Spurs played in double figures, including 17 from Tony Parker. Manu Ginobili added 12 points, including a pair of free throws that put San Antonio ahead with 3.8 seconds remaining.

DeMarre Carroll and Paul Millsap had 17 points each for Atlanta (1-2).

Bulls 95 Bucks 86

Derrick Rose returned from his latest injury and helped the Bulls continue to make themselves at home in Milwaukee with a win over the Bucks on Wednesday night.

Taj Gibson scored 23 points, Pau Gasol added 22, and Rose had 13 points and seven assists in 32 minutes for the Bulls, who have beaten the Bucks nine straight times in Milwaukee.

Giannis Antetokounmpo had 13 points and eight rebounds for the Bucks.

Timberwolves 98 Nets 91

Nikola Pekovic converted a tiebreaking three-point play with 48 seconds left, and the Timberwolves scored the final nine points of the game to beat the Nets.

Kevin Martin led the Timberwolves with 26 points and rookie Andrew Wiggins, playing in the arena where he was taken by Cleveland with the No. 1 pick in the draft, added 17.

Deron Williams had 19 points for the Nets (2-2), who had won their last two games but will face the rival New York Knicks for the first time this season.
