Celtics acquire Bynum from Pistons for Anthony

The Boston Celtics announced today that they have acquired guard Will Bynum from the Detroit Pistons in exchange for center Joel Anthony.

Bynum, 31, appeared in 56 games for the Detroit Pistons last season where he averaged 8.7 points, 1.8 rebounds and 3.9 assists in 18.8 minutes per game. In six seasons with the Pistons, Bynum averaged 8.4 points, 3.4 assists and 1.6 rebounds in 338 games.

Anthony, 32, has averaged 2.3 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.2 blocks and 16.0 minutes in 403 career games (110 starts) with Miami and Boston. Acquired by Boston in a mid-season trade from Miami last season, the 6-foot-9, 245-pound center averaged 1.2 rebounds and 5.6 minutes in 33 games.
