Sixers sign Alex Poythress for the rest of the season

The Philadelphia 76ers today announced that the team has signed forward Alex Poythress for the remainder of the season, pursuant to an extension of the NBA's roster hardship exception.

Poythress originally joined the Sixers from the Ft. Wayne Mad Ants of the NBA Development League on April 2. He has appeared in five for the Sixers this season, posting averages of nine points, four rebounds and one assist in 25 minutes per game, while shooting 40% from the field and 38% from three-point range.

On April 10, 2017 against the Indiana Pacers, Poythress scored a career-high 15 points, with all five of his field goals coming from beyond the three-point line (also a career-high).
