Sixers: Noel to undergo surgery, Simmons expected back in January

76ers coach Brett Brown mentioned that injured rookie star Ben Simmons is expected to return in January.

Simmons suffered a Jones fracture of the fifth metatarsal in his right foot on Sept. 30, the final day of training camp and NBA sources had previously said that Simmons would be out for three months.

Meanwhile, forward Nerlens Noel will need surgery on his left knee to solve an inflamed plica, identified as the source of the soreness he has been suffering.

The procedure is arthroscopic and considered to be minor. No timetable for his return has been announced.
