The Miami Heat announced Tuesday that they have signed guard Luis Montero and waived Keith Benson. As per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Montero appeared in 12 games with the Portland Trail Blazers last season totaling 14 points, four rebounds and an assist in 42 minutes of action. He also appeared in six postseason games with Portland totaling eight points on a perfect 3-of-3 from the field, 2-of-2 from three-point range and 1-of-1 from the foul line.
Montero will wear number 44.
Benson appeared in three preseason games with Miami averaging 7.3 points and 3.3 rebounds in 10.9 minutes of action.
