Kevin Martin accepts buyout from Timberwolves

Minnesota Timberwolves Tuesday announced the team has waived guard Kevin Martin. The roster currently stands at 13 players.

Martin joined the Wolves in 2013 and is in his 12th NBA season. He played in 39 games for the Wolves this year, averaging 10.6 points and 2.1 rebounds. Martin has career averages of 17.6 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 698 games.

The San Antonio Spurs have already emerged as strong contenders to sign him. But the Atlanta Hawks, Dallas Mavericks and Houston Rockets have joined the Spurs in the Martin hunt, according to ESPN reports.
