Greg Whittington to sign non-guaranteed deal with Heat

The Miami Heat took another step toward filling out their training-camp roster with an agreement with summer-league standout Greg Whittington, the former Georgetown forward.

The agreement with Whittington, who played for the Heat in both the Orlando and Las Vegas summer leagues, leaves the Heat will 18 players on their offseason roster, two shy of the NBA maximum. Teams much trim to a maximum of 15 by Oct. 26.

Whittington joins recently signed free agents Keith Benson and Corey Hawkins, as well as returning forward James Ennis, as the only players on the roster without a salary guarantee for 2015-16.
